DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to conquer the half marathon distance? Or maybe you have done it before and need some accountability to start training again? Our 12-week training program is the place for YOU!

Beginning January 16th, we will meet weekly on Saturdays at the greenway with a plan of action to start you at YOUR current running pace and help you progress to the longer distance over the course of 12 weeks. Each week you will safely increase your distance and be ready to run a Spring Half Marathon. You will do some runs with a group and some on your own.

We will have pacers available and THE BEST support group to help you reach your goal. You will be included in a closed Facebook group that will be your platform to ask questions, get advice, meet new people, and review the training plan for each week.

Your registration fee also gets you a super soft tee that's great for showing off your hard work!

5K Training Program

Our next 5k training program will be kicking off in the Spring of 2021.

The Informational Meeting for the Spring 2021 Beginner 5K program will be at North GA Running Co. (date and time are TBD).

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The NGRC Beginner 5K program is great for beginner runners or walkers. The structured training program will help you cross the finish line in just over 10 weeks! A Walk/Run option is also available with this program for those looking to tackle their first race, or to get back in shape. Although the program is tailored towards beginner runners, all are welcome! Coaches and mentors will provide motivation and support along the way.

The program meets Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 7:00pm and on Saturday mornings at 8am for group runs led by a coach and/or mentors. There will be two supported sessions per week.

There will also be several clinics available to you during the length of the program that will cover nutrition, injury prevention and form.

Join us for this program that will not only get you to the finish line of a 5K but will provide you with support and friendship that will keep you motivated to continue running/walking after you have met your initial 5K goal.

In the words of a Beginner Training Program Alumni:  "Come for the running, stay for the friendships!"
